Look what you did, flower man.

With belief grander than a mustard seed,

look at this garden you grew.

A botanical bliss.

When they ask what’s your secret

tell them,

putting the ground in your grips,

giving the soil a kiss,

and granting grace for growth

to all the things

that are normally dismissed—

including dreams.

That’s a gift.

You are a gift.

To not let love die.

To get on your knees

and fertilize the dirt

with your tears.

To believe

even when it hurt.

To take up landscaping

as an occupation,

because land is a form of power

and beauty—

which is a necessary resource.

And you know

if you could join the two,

out-of-reach ideas

could bloom through.

This beautiful land

you have curated

is a reminder

of an ancient truth—

that flowers

still grow toward the sun.

You are the light.

Don’t you ever

let this world

take that from you.

Even when this world

is absent of you.

You will shine on.

These flowers you planted

will grow on.

Your garden is eternal.

Live in that truth.
